Chilton Polden Village Hall
Chilton Polden is a small rural village situated on the slopes of the Polden hills north of the A39. It is easily reached by road from all the surrounding communities including the bigger ones of Street and Bridgwater.
The hall is ideal for groups of 40-45 people for meetings, classes, celebrations and children’s parties with chairs and tables available if required.
The building consists of a small entrance hall which leads into the main hall space. Leading from the main hall is a small kitchen area and separate toilet. The kitchen contains basic kitchen equipment including tea urn, kettles, microwave, cups, saucers, mugs, glasses and cutlery. The hall has disabled assisted access but toilet facilities are, however, not suitable for wheelchairs. Heating in the main hall is achieved by electric radiators, all of which can be turned on or off individually as seen fit. Payment of the electricity used is by way of a £1 coin operated meter. Thanks to a grant from VIRIDOR the kitchen and toilet facilities have recently been upgraded. Thanks also go to volunteers from the Village who repainted the entire hall.
At present the hall is used by a variety of groups, all of which are pleased to hire space at an exceptionally low cost. Car parking can be achieved by parking on the road beside the hall.
