Retired police officer and Neighbourhood Watch member Jon Hawes, has kindly volunteered to share his expertise with us and will cover the following topics:-

Myths around burglaries and vehicle crime.

How criminals choose a property to burgle.

Removing opportunity.

The few victims that may be specifically targeted and how.

What the Police are capable of doing, and realistic expectations in this time following severe cuts to Policing.

How to identify ‘suspicious’ activity and why you should report it.

How to record and report something you see.

Why people shouldn’t fear reporting something, and why timeliness is crucial.

What happens to information you give?

If you discover you are a victim, what to do and what not to do.

There will be an opportunity for questions and just as importantly, a cup of tea and biscuit!
